Algeria's Ministry of Knowledge Economy, Startups and Small Enterprises has launched the "Green Growth and Job Creation" project, an initiative supervised by Minister Noureddine Wadhah. This significant project aims to strengthen the green economy within Algeria and foster the creation of sustainable employment opportunities, marking a key step in the nation's economic diversification efforts. A two-day training workshop for trainers has begun as part of the program, designed to equip participants with essential skills for this new economic direction. Minister Wadhah stated, "This program comes as a continuation of the fruitful and joint cooperation that the Ministry has with the United Nations Development Programme in Algeria for years." He added that focusing on the green economy aims to raise the efficiency of trainers overseeing small enterprises, particularly those in sustainable environmental development. "This international program, which is implemented in cooperation with the Kingdom of Denmark and was previously successfully implemented in several Arab countries, relies on the highest international foundations," Minister Wadhah said, noting the initiative's strong international backing and proven methodology.

Training for Green Entrepreneurs

The workshop aims to enhance professional capabilities among participants, specifically in supporting and guiding green entrepreneurs. This focus on the green economy is intended to raise the efficiency of trainers responsible for monitoring small enterprises, particularly those involved in sustainable environmental development. The program adheres to the highest international foundations and standards in framing the environmental economy, ensuring its relevance and effectiveness in promoting sustainable practices. This initiative is designed to strengthen the new economy in Algeria, which is based on knowledge, innovation, and the energy of its youth, fostering a skilled workforce for green industries. The training workshop specifically targets cadres and trainers from key national institutions, including the National Agency for the Support and Development of Entrepreneurship (NESDA) and the National Agency for Micro-credit Management (ANGEM). These participants will gain specialized knowledge and tools to effectively support and guide entrepreneurs in emerging green sectors, thereby contributing directly to job creation and sustainable development.

International Cooperation and Past Successes

The "Green Growth and Job Creation" initiative is an international program implemented in cooperation with the Kingdom of Denmark, building on its prior success in several Arab countries. This collaborative effort also involves the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), showing a multi-faceted partnership for sustainable growth. Minister Noureddine Wadhah affirmed that this program "relies on the highest international foundations and standards in framing the environmental economy," ensuring that the approach is both rigorous and globally recognized. He added that the focus on the green economy "primarily targets raising the efficiency of trainers responsible for monitoring small enterprises, especially those operating in the fields of sustainable environmental development." This targeted approach is expected to create a ripple effect, empowering small businesses to adopt more environmentally friendly practices and contribute to the green economy. Minister Wadhah also noted the program's role as "a strong additional brick in the path of strengthening the foundations of the new economy based on knowledge, innovation, and the energies of Algerian youth." He further showed the ongoing partnership, stating, "This program comes as a continuation of the fruitful and joint cooperation that the Ministry has with the United Nations Development Programme in Algeria for years," indicating a long-term commitment to these development goals.

Ministerial Vision for Green Growth

The "Green Growth and Job Creation" project aims to strengthen the green economy within Algeria and foster the creation of sustainable employment opportunities across various sectors. This initiative represents a collaborative effort, involving a partnership between Algeria and the Kingdom of Denmark, alongside the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). As part of this broader project, a specialized training workshop is underway, demonstrating a practical commitment to capacity building. The workshop targets cadres and trainers from key national institutions, specifically the National Agency for the Support and Development of Entrepreneurship (NESDA) and the National Agency for Micro-credit Management (ANGEM). These training efforts are designed to equip participants with the necessary skills to support and guide entrepreneurs in green sectors, providing key mentorship and resources. By concentrating on these institutions, the Ministry aims to embed green growth principles deeply within the national entrepreneurial support system, ensuring a lasting impact on Algeria's economic landscape and its burgeoning youth population.
